Julia Barsel has an exceptionally broad legal experience, having practiced law in Russia, Israel and Canada. She speaks and writes fluently in three different languages. Julia earned her Master’s Degree in Law (Civil Law) at the St. Petersburg State University in 1982 was admitted to the Bar the same year. In 1992, Julia completed the requirements to receive an Israeli Law degree. She was admitted to the Israeli Bar and practiced law in Israel.

After immigrating to Canada, she worked in a support staff role for several law firms before enrolling at UBC Law School. Her commitment to the legal profession led her to graduate in 2013 with a JD degree from UBC. Julia is a member of the Law Society of B.C.

Julia’s extensive experience working within the legal systems of different countries has developed a valuable skill-set for understanding clients’ legal problems and resolving them.

In addition to practicing ICBC law with Martin Estate and Injury Law, Julia has her own private practice in the fields of wills and estates and family law. She provides free legal education sessions within the Russian community in Vancouver and she is passionate about helping people. Julia’s hobbies include playing competitive Bridge.
