Born and raised in Metro Vancouver, Luke graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History at UBC Vancouver. There he was a member of the UBC Fencing Club and he also served as a director of the UBC Law and Business Society. Luke was awarded a law degree from UBC Vancouver also and articled in the Fraser Valley before moving to the Okanagan in 2020 to join his extended family, including his father, Dan Effa, who is very involved in the business community.
In the Okanagan Luke practiced first with a small law firm, then with a full-service firm, where he gained a wide range of experience in wills, estates and incapacity planning, business law, and real estate conveyancing.
He is dedicated to ensuring his client’s interests are protected, whether that be through growing their businesses today, or ensuring that their loved ones will be provided for in the future through estate planning. Luke has worked on complicated estate files involving significant foreign assets, and also complex business and real estate transactions, including the purchase of a premier rental pool ski resort.
Luke loves living in Lake Country with his wife and child. He is a Director of the Lake Country Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, he enjoys touring the local restaurants and wineries, hiking, working out, and barbecuing for friends and family.
